Phase One of the restoration of Cheltenham’s main War Memorial, sited on the Promenade, was carried out between July and September 2014.
Phase One restoration included excavation and drainage work, repaving around the memorial in Yorkstone, cleaning of the obelisk and balustrades and installation of LED uplighting.
On the 15th September, stakeholders from the local community were invited to view the newly refurbished memorial, and then for a presentation and discussion of phase two of the restoration, which will include educational elements, and the re-engraving of all the names on the memorial.
