From Monday 10 November – Saturday 15 November 2014, Cheltenham College will host an exhibition in the Chatfeild-Roberts Library – Old Cheltonians go to War; 3,540 served but 675 gave more.
The exhibition will look at how a former pupil viewed the war – including a former pupil’s War Diary and other artefacts; how the outbreak of War affected College life; and how a former pupil won a VC. There will be new research featured on former pupils who served in the War along with artwork, projects and highlights from the recent Battlefield trip by current pupils.
By 11 November 1914 60 Old Cheltonians had died. Each of these former pupils will be remembered in the exhibition and, for some, there will be additional information about their life either before or during the War.
The exbition will be open from 11.00-19.00 from Monday 10 November – Friday 14 November and from 11.00-17.00 on Saturday 15 November. Admission is FREE.
